Of course the game was in the Superdome, but the temperature got into the 30's. Walk to the Dome was brutal.

But LSU won,47-34 and it wasn't really that close.

What an amazing game. Final score definitely doesn't dictate the game. Tailgating was off the chain.

I bought a baseball cap at the game.

I slept with it on for about a week.

Our first real taste of a major bowl in forever. What a time, it also snowed in BR that night.

Yep, remember kicking the shite out of them and then running around in the yard after. I want to say BR got 2-3 inches that night

Scored tickets from a Illini friend who was a season ticket holder and couldn't make the trip to NOLA. When I sat down, most of the Illini fans were friendly enough....but once the beat down began, one guy behind me started getting pissed every time we cheered when LSU made a big play. He eventually demanded to know how I got my tickets! When I told him from a friend who is an Illini season ticket holder, he lost his shite and demanded to know his name. I told him there was NO WAY that I'd tell him that given his dickish ways and eventually, other Illini fans had to tell the guy to calm his shite down. We definitely dominated the game...if it wasn't for Brandon Lloyd, Illinois would've scored 7-10 points...tops.

One of the most dominate 1st half of football LSU has ever played. Dominick Davis and Reed were just unstoppable. Also my first time going to a strip club on Bourbon.

Memorable night.

Remember walking out of the dome and it was so cold. If I recall correctly, there was snow on the ground on the drive back to northeast Louisiana.

Man, that whole year was bad arse. I remember having friends in line for tickets on Friday and as we were about to meet them they called and said since so many people were in line they were just giving out arm bands so you could leave and come back. That next morning in line was bad arse and basically like a tailgate. Then the weekend and game was outstanding.

Froze my arse off walking to the dome, got tickets as a gift that were inadvertently bought in the Illinois section and thoroughly enjoyed the tigers pounding them all game, the score definitely didn’t match the actual game. Good times!

I was traveling in Asia trying to follow the scoreboard online and the refresh rate was so slow. No rant for color commentary either. That team got so very hot at the end of 2001.
