I’m adjusting my expectations for this football season downward

We seem to be unable to acquire any DTs in the portal, and we are very, very lacking in that area.
Our defense is going to get pushed around like they’re on roller skates. There’s no way to win the SEC and the national championship without a defensive line and a defensive front seven that can set the tone and give your defense a chance.
Maybe 2025 will be our year. Our recruiting is picking up so perhaps we will have the DL we need in future seasons.

it's still a concern and you are not winning the playoffs without a stellar defensive line
with that said, most teams are a a key injury or two away from similar issues
with extra games added to playoffs most teams are gonna have to stay healthy

Unfortunately he's not wrong. If we don't pull a rabbit out our hat at DT we are looking at a defense that was worse than last years. We don't have a Heisman dual threat QB that can will us a game or two to compensate this year.

Our run defense will be much worse this year. Secondary might improve. We’ll have an 8-4 kind of year

Offense will be worse, DL is looking rough, secondary… who knows can only go up. Overall looking like a potentially worse season.
