There was a guy from around 2005 named PJ Zimmerman that could hit someone in the nuts from 50 yards away but refused to show up for workouts and/or meetings so he was kicked off the team prior to playing. He snapped so hard they actually had to ask him to slow it down so the punter and place holder could actually catch it. He is the best that never was.

How tight was our asses on that last punt for the 2004 sugar bowl?

Shy Carey and Snapper Steve Damen out for sugar bowl.

I was nervous the whole game there would have a bad snap on a punt.

Then that last one, as the clock was going to run out I was seriously about to code when our backup snapper was in. No one knows what would happen if that ball sails over our guy’s head. Think about it, we are up by 7, then ou recovers it in the end zone. That’s a 2nd and 26 champ play right there.

I believe gant petty was the one saban decided on.

So Gant Petty is on my Rushmore for playing his part in a national championship as a next man up and did his job.

Ps, I call on Dr Chad Kessler. I beleive he and Witten were our punters. ETA. NOT FOR THAT SEASON, though.

Kessler was the boom punter and Whitten was the pooch punter.

That system worked out GREAT.

Again.
Thank you to GANT PETTY.

The correct answer is Brian Kinchen. Played 15 years in the NFL and snapped for the winning field goal in the super bowl in 2003-2004 season, after finishing LSU in 1988.

That's a long arse career for a snapper.

If we’re only counting his LSU career, I submit Blaine McCorkle. He was the deep snap or during the mid-late 90’s who used to hike the ball to Chad Kessler and Jeremy Witten. Kessler still has the NCAA record for most yards per punt in a season at 50 yards. It helped him that Witten always puts bonded, and he never had to kick a short one. In his LSU career, Blaine never had a bad snap.

Back in the day, Mike Gambrell was the starting center and also long snapped.

Pussification of football, I guess.
