You know it’s true. His ceiling is higher than anybody we have had. His swagger is unmatched. His stuff is absurd especially now that he is working in that change up in his arsenal of pitches. He makes batters look dumb.

We have Hang Dang Lange, Anthony Ranaudo, Aaron Nola, Ben McDonald, Louis Coleman, Brett Laxton & Kevin Gausman. We have been blessed but Skene’s strikeout stats are absolutely filthy.

He is on pace for some historical all time highs. Skenes has put the country on notice. There is going to be some nutt taken straight to the grill.

What an amazing team especially the batting. Brobie White is such a dog. He is an oppo addict.

McDonald Nola, Gausman, and Skenes are different from the rest.

Not this shite again. McDonald had a 1.44 era and was tossing it 100 (some say 101 it was 96-97 with the OLD GUNS that didn’t pick up from the hand) with a filthy braking ball and change. Until last night Skenes had no command of the change and during these last couple weeks his slider wasn’t there either.

You can say no LSU pitcher played in 32 basketball games, reached the elite 8 and then pitched or no LSU pitcher will EVER toss 352 innings in 18 months including winning a gold medal the summer between SO and JR year then set the SEC and LSU K record. Let him do that and we will talk.

How many CGs does he have? Or CG Shut outs? Or saves the next day after pitching 9 innings the daily before?

McDonald had 18 CGs in 2 seasons. He had 5 saves AFTER tossing CGs the day before.
Skip ruined Ben’s junior year by wearing him out before the NCAA tournament.

You are talking about a completely different era. Nobody pitches like that anymore. It doesnt make Ben better or worse than skenes and its irrelevant to the debate

If this is how you remember McDonald’s career I’d love to hear how you remember Skenes’ career in 20 years. He had nowhere near a 1.44 ERA, it was almost 4 for his 3 years at LSU, and he was also throwing 96 on the old guns. You’re senile

I’m not sure what your point is? He had an irresponsible coaching staff that probably cost him millions of dollars in the MLB. Skenes could’ve thrown complete games in almost every outing he’s had this season if Jay didn’t give a shite about his arm. Throwing 200 pitches per weekend isn’t an accomplishment

Reread what I wrote. He had a 1.44 eRA entering the NCAA Tournament his JR year after all those inning as.

yeah. Reread the innings and 352 innings fricker.

What about CG? Shut out?

Those old guns did not pitch up from the hands. There are multiple articles of him tossing 100. Those old guns are notoriously low and NOT FROM THR HAND.

But keep just reading a stats sheet because you never saw what I saw or had the pleasure to umpire a 16 y/o tossing 95 like I did.

He could but would face people again and his ERA would drop as would his velocity… see how that works?

Laxton holds the strike out record for CWS. If Skenes does that he’s the best. Also Lax can hammer some Mic Ultras

You’re the dumbest person on this board. There’s no way you aren’t Rickdaddy’s alter with your low IQ annoying bullshite. You got it, Ben McDonald was actually throwing 105 and his ERA was 1.44 for some weird arbitrary amount of time that you picked out and Skenes would have a 10 ERA if he averaged 9 innings instead of 7 and blah blah blah. You’re right man

The ENTIRE TEAM needs to be wearing the "Old School" stirrup socks with the shorter pants. I've always liked that look; looks like shite with just him wearing that style........

This is a fact. Todays guns are juiced by 3-4 mph over the guns of 90s and 2000s.
