It’s BS that there’s 0 accountability for him getting tossed when he’s already out of the game.
If you’re not “in” the game as a player and you get tossed, you should serve that ejection in the next conference game.
It would stop that crap really quickly.

Brecht was suspended for 4 games so will miss his next start on Saturday vs. Pepperdine.

I talked to him after he got tossed standing outside of the locker room on the left field line. He told me he said, "You are f****** terrible" Not enough to get tossed in my opinion

If a player is ejected from a game after being removed from the game or after the game has concluded, the NCAA rules dictate you're suspended for the next game as well. Conferences/teams can also impose lengthier suspensions than the 1 game as well

I thought he handled it well. He wasn't animated, didn't yell, said what he had to say, and left like he was told.

IMO, it's weak when pitching suspensions don't really affect a start for them. His 4 game suspension means he'll pitch a day later in the rotation than he did last week. He won't actually miss a start like position players would

The 4 game suspension means he won't be able to play today or any of the 3 games next weekend in Mobile. I'd bet that next time he is on the mound is the weekend of March 10-12 @ Texas Tech.

So you're Ok with a player cursing, with the F word, an umpire? What are your verbal limits? Any? That word is an automatic ejection in pro ball, but a college kid can say what he wants? This is the sad world we now live in. This is exactly what happened to the Vol's best player last year in their Super Regional vs. the Irish. And TV didn't say a peep when he heard why.

I can promise you the F word is not automatic in pro ball. Its about what you say. If you say “you are fricking terrible” then thats automatic. But if you say “that was a fricking horseshite call” then thats fine. Its a weirs line, but thats how its done. Look at some old clips of terry collins and see what he got away with.

No. It means he couldn’t pitch last Sunday, the midweek, and Fri/Sat. The report says he’ll be available Sunday

Calling the umpire a cocksucker will get you tossed every time. Saying it was a cocksucking call will not get you tossed….usually.
