I know we live to hate on Lebron James here, but has a player ever lived up to the hype places on him from such a young age? He was crowned the next MJ in HS, and he’s the only person in the debate.

Harper has done decent, as he is likely a hall of famer, but not quite on lebrons level obviously

If only steroids were available in the 70s, 80s, and 90s

Imagine how cool a sport like baseball could have been in the 90s with roids

Now break it down by players who played their 21st year when people were allowed to guard them

Kobe wasn’t touted as the next MJ in HS. He’s in the debate now, but not out of HS

Guarding isn’t allowed in the NBA anymore?

Kobe actually says:

Anyway, he was the 13th pick in the draft. The hype was nowhere close.

Then Lou Alcindor, now Kareem Abdul Jabar certainly lived up to the hype. Greatest high school and college basketball player ever.

Explain that to the T-Wolves. Cause Denver believes.

Guess he should have used some of that gas in the tank earlier on in his career to do a little better and get some more rings instead of saving it just to limp his way to….”oldest to score points champion”!

Question about Kobe when he was drafted… I know he only wanted to be drafted by the Lakers and basically forced a trade, which was something an unproven player out of high school just didn’t do in 1997… was he regarded to be one of the top players in the draft and fell because of that?
