I don’t get the “no one asked for this” complaint.

Ok.

I didnt ask for Hamlet with Lions in 1995. But we got it and it was good.

Why though? Why not just make this into an animated movie?

I guess to piggy back off the last one that did really well.

But I definitely agree an animated movie would do well too.

I winder what Disney’s 2D animation infrastructure is like these days. Every movie is computer animated nowZ

We find out Pumba originally belonged to Rafiki, and Scar built Timon as a young cub.

I’m down.

Some of that cgi looked amazing, some looked incomplete. They have 8 or so months to clean it up so not too worried about it.

This is my biggest issue with the trailer. Why the frick are Timon and Pumbaa in a move about Mufasa?

Plot twist, it’s a Transformers crossover.

Disney has no imagination left.

They are an absolute dumpster fire of a studio.

I just wish he would finally admit that Ariel is the greatest Disney princess of all time. Just such a go getter that Ariel. Smart, independent woman who saw what she wanted and went for it. Not like that pretentious bitch Belle.

And the trailer says Mufasa was born without a drop of nobility in his blood. So what about the whole conversation with Simba about the stars being past kings?

give CGI animals the raw facial emotions that animation can, it won't be as good.

I agree which is why I don’t understand why Jungle Book was so good. This scene feels more natural to me than the later singing CGI animals of future Disney remakes. No other live action remake has met the standard of this first one.

A movie we didn't need and no one wanted

I'm not going to lie, I'm here for this one. Lion King was my movie growing up and I didn't need a prequel to it, but I'm here for it. Trailer was pretty decent.

Strange genre Disney has created making the villain the hero.

I agree; however, this is not the case here. Mufasa is Simba's father. You're thinking of Scar.

Regardless, this looks not very good. The CGI is awkward in many of the scenes. Why can't we simply keep animated films... animated? This need to animate them to look real is silly

My favorite Mufasa moment is after he and Zazu confront Scar for not coming to the Simba reveal ceremony.

BRUH....The original was a fricking cartoon. Do you expect them to train real lions to act and talk?

They are calling it live action.

It isn’t.

Homeward Bound was live animals. This ain’t that.
