Good times ... no confidence that the Pels wouldn't have shipped him off for a overpaid veteran instead or being patient and letting him develop though.

He would have been sent to the Kings for Boogie, so it doesn't matter

That used to be a valid point for the Pels, but not really over the last few years.

Actually Kings weren’t high on Murray. The owner was infactuated with Hield. Think that was the only reason he got off Cousins. It’s likely if Demps made the right pick Murray may still be here.

I doubt it.
He looked good from the get go, different than Buddy.

I was one of the idiots that thought Buddy was the better prospect. Learned my lesson doubting Kentucky guards in the lottery.

I liked Buddy but he was a older prospect and just thought Murray's ceiling was way higher.

Agreed with the comment about the Kings. We only got Cousins bc the owner of the kings was super high on Buddy.

I remember how livid I was when they passed on Murray for Hield. It was around that time I was so disgusted with the franchise it got to the point I never watched, didn't keep up with scores, anything. And that's while I had season tickets. Eight years later I'm still disgusted

Not necessarily. They were infatuated with Buddy.

It is crazy to think what could have been in NOLA had Cousins not torn his Achilles.

And don't forget we took Dyson four picks before OKC nabbed Jalen Williams. Can you imagine a Pels closing lineup of Maxey, Williams, Zion, Trey and Herb?

Taking Buddy was the right move in the sense that it got us Boogie. I think that was the best Pelicans squad of all time before Boogie tore his Achilles trying to rebound a missed FT
PG: Rondo
SG: Jrue
SF: Mirotic
PF: AD
C: Boogie
I still say we would have won it at all at full strength. Warriors had no prayer of matching that size

Remember that time in 2020 when we could have drafted Tyrese Maxey and drafted Kira fricking Lewis with the 13th pick instead?

Thank God they were dumb enough to take Buddy. What could have been if Boogie could have stayed healthy!

Pretty much the story of our franchise.

Some of being snakebit was bad luck but hiring the Great Value brand sports medicine team really hurt us. It fricked QPon’s career.
