Will now be based on seat location. Sounds like a reason for more people to just stay home and stream.

There’s rarely a large release I’m interested in even streaming these days

I think we’re going to see a shift towards smaller, family owned type movie theaters. There’s a theater in a town to the south of me that has two screens and has been in operation since the 50’s. It’s a fantastic experience. And cheap.

I only go to the movies two or three times a year but when I do, I don’t mind paying a premium for nice chairs, assigned seats, and to price out the bullshite

Most of my large releases are at home these days.

Don’t they make all the money on concessions anyway?

Oppenheimer looks like a solid “go to the movies” movie

We did A list this summer and will probably do it again next summer. I don't have the time during the school year but over the summer we saw a bunch of movies. They run a promo that the first month is $.99 with a 3 month minimum. So for $41 you can see 3 movies per week with no upcharges for premium options.

Theaters will soon be a thing of the past. Most aren’t making it back from Covid shutdowns.

Same. People frown upon it in public these days.

I'd pay extra for escort service. I can't go to a movie alone. Just need a temporary girlfriend.

I can see that happening. Seems like we’re going back in time before major companies took over theaters. I bet even the front row seats in this new AMC plan will be more expensive than what we’ve been paying. If we get concessions, it’s nearly $100 for my crew to go to the movies. Now they want to up charge my seat? No thanks.

Ultimately it’s about the experience as much as it is about the movie and modern theaters are lacking in that regard.

AMC is owned by Chicoms. Haven't been in one of their theaters in 10 years or so.

Seems to have been the forecast for a while, but theaters in some places are still filling up, believe it or not. They don't have to pack out every showing.

I like going to the movies, but we almost always go to the local place that is cheaper and offers free popcorn refills, etc.

On the rare occasion that we see a movie we make it a point to go to Celebrity Theaters. No AMC I've been to can compete with that place

This is some of the stuff you get at smaller theaters. The one near me even does a wine and cheese night.
