Outside of video evidence, why does it seem like tornadoes can go unnoticed in South Louisiana compared to places like Oklahoma?
Seems like most are very rain wrapped with a huge amount of gulf moisture. And much of Louisiana has a dense tree canopy that could make sightings difficult. And our radar coverage has historically had gaps.

Twitter - NWS Baton Rouge
Confirmed WF0 Tornado in Pointe Coupee Parish on Monday near New Roads in the community of Frisco. No injuries or fatalities from that one.
They are also looking at damage characteristics in Iberville parish closer to Baton Rouge today and another spot around Frost, LA.
They noted that a damaged area in in West Baton Rouge around Erwinville did experience severe straight line winds but it wasn’t a tornado. That part of the storm was unfortunately fatal for a pregnant mother and her unborn baby.
