“We put out over 50 traps around the farm to test our crawfish population. Here’s what we found:
Despite the cold water conditions, which typically reduce crawfish activity significantly, the results from these tests were surprisingly positive. We discovered a robust population of crawfish in the majority of our traps, indicating that the population is healthier and more active than expected given the unique circumstances of the 2024 season.
Given that cold water usually means crawfish are less likely to venture into traps unless they're placed directly in their path, the success rate of our testing phase has been encouraging.
This outcome has led us to accelerate our plans for the season. As a result, we've prepared our boats and will begin our trapping efforts starting tomorrow.
Availability will be limited initially, as is typical at the start of the season, so we encourage you to stay connected with us through emails, texts, and social media for the latest updates.
Additionally, we're opening up a list for those who wish to call in and reserve their crawfish in advance.
This early indication of a healthy crawfish population is a promising sign for the season ahead, and we are optimistic about the potential yields. Your patience and support have been invaluable, and we look forward to sharing this season's bounty with you!”

Inexplicably crawfish prices are still on the rise.

At $12-15/lb. it’s very easy to hold out.

I love crawfish but I dont HAVE to have it. No way in hell am I buying crawfish at over 3-4 dollars a pound.
I am also fortunate enough to be friends with a few folks who love showing off their ability to throw crawfish parties, costs be damned.

Same here. I don’t get the obsession people have. Yes, I want it annually but I’m not obsessing over it. If I go a year without it, so be it.

Unless i went to a crawfish boil, im not buying them. They are not worth what the prices are right now
I can live without having them this season if it comes down to that

translation, not enough idiots are paying $16 a pound for crawfish so we gonna have to cut prices to $12

Man you guys are either super skeptical or free loaders. Won’t eat them unless invited. Nice. I hope you aren’t invited. If you can’t afford them don’t buy them. It’s just that simple..
