Wrapping water pipes

Stupid question, I know. Our new house is not on a slab (not trashy, historic district). Do I have to crawl under the house to wrap the water pipes or can I just wrap the faucets? This is our first house that's not on a concrete slab.

Just put a sprinkler under your house connected to your hot water heater...

Always wrap your pipe. Lubrication is good too.

Where are you? I don't think anywhere in La. is expecting a hard enough freeze to have to worry about it.

Either wrap all exposed pipes or just let the water drip when the temp drops below around 28 or so. You can cover the openings under your house also.

Wrapping water pipes is trashy.

They are expecting a hard freeze on the north shore above I-12.

Drip just one, or like one upstairs and one downstairs?
Eta:
My weather forecast has 26 degrees overnight on the Northshore

have you looked at your pipes?
my house is also off the ground, and the pipes are insulated

I don't think they are looking at 24hours+ frozen temps. Unless you are getting that, you can just drip the faucets and be fine.

Your house is mostly doing the wrapping for you when it comes to the pipes underneath. Gonna have to use your judgement here. Wind is the enemy. Block off openings to the crawl space. If it looks like it's going to be exposed to the wind then wrap it. Otherwise, it's probably good if it's made it this long.

Among other things, I program my dishwasher to kickoff in the middle of the night. I think that helps.

Drip the one that is farthest away from the main in your house, so water runs through all the pipes to get to that point.

You waited until a winter storm to worry about this?

I covered my faucets with this: Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Very
inexpensive and easy .

Great for your hose bibs, but doesn't help at all if you have a raised house and exposed pipes below the first floor.
