Any good public areas to go bass fishing around Baton Rouge? New to the area.

If you don't have a boat you will be severely limited.

They have a couple pond at the BREC soccer complexes on Burbank. The Waddil Wildlife place off of Flannery has some good ponds, and a few other BREC parks have ponds. Other than that, you can fish the LSU lakes or subdivision ponds and that is about it.

Yah I don't have a boat just yet, waiting to get out of grad school. I've heard about the BREC ponds, even heard a few of them were stocked with trout. Thats about all I have heard of so far though.

they stock them once a year and post it in the advocate. Urban youths have them all caught within days with cane poles and bread as bait
