Best brand? How much power do I need? Blade size?

It'll be for smaller sorta jobs. Cutting firewood, tree limbs, etc.

Thanks much and have a nice Christmas.

Do you already have battery powered tools?

I have dewalt tools. I have the 60v dewalt saw and it's great for most things. I don't take out the stihl much anymore.

I have a 20v Dewalt. Came with a 12” bar. I put on a 16” bar. With a 5-6ah battery it’s awesome.

Get a dewalt so you can stack up on the same batteries that run all of your tools.

You can get the harbor freight one for $65 and if you can solder and glue you can pick up the right cable connection from Amazon and set it up to accept your Dewalt batteries.

I have a Milwaukee 18v system that I did that with after I saw it done on a YouTube channel I follow.

I have a Milwaukee. I love it but I’d recommend buying an extra battery

I have the Ryobi with the 40v lithium batteries. I also have the blower. It works great around the yard. I originally bought the chainsaw to build brush piles on Lake Lanier at night. That batter works great and charges fast. Its not going to do any serious work but has come in handy as a trimming saw.

Good for us that dont need gas tools anymore. Mine has the 10"bar

The new version of the 16" ego is perfect for that. They sell it with 2 5ah batteries, you might have to order it from Acme but it is the best electric for what you describe. The 18" is a beast if you think you need it. They take Oregon bars and chains so some saws you can size up and down. The 2 5ah battery package is the best value, buying ego batteries without tools is $$$$

EGO is the best brand on the market right now. Other good ones for sure (Milwaukee, DeWalt) but EGO is tops in performance and innovation

I’ll second EGO. It’s heavier than the in-laws Stihl but has better run time with 5ah battery. I was already invested in the EGO platform so that also factored in my decision.

The power head system with pole saw, head trimmer and weed eater is bad to the bone as well with

Kobalt 80 is heavy, but it’s a beast.
