Someone I know is giving me some random buffer springs he had laying around to see if that helps. And I'll switch to a more well known bolt to see if there's anything there.

I'd definitely play with buffers and springs before buying another bolt. The bolt is an easy check anyway, just separate the upper, lock the bolt forward then pull it back by hand. If it's rotating/unlocking and traveling to the rear without a lot of drama then it's probably not the bolt.

If you don't have one I'd get an adjustable buffer so you can play with the weights.

Does anyone know of a place that does TiN coating on parts and what's the likelihood of it matching parts I already have? Years ago I picked up a Faxon barrel and bolt for a build and I'd like to try and get a HUB capable muzzle device in TiN. I have a ATC ar gold trigger but im not sure if I want to go anymore than that stuff.

Not buying another one. Just switching between guns to one I know is working flawlessly and trying this bolt in that other gun.

what's everyone doing with their older ARs, once you get into the build-a-gun phase of this? I like putting a new one together in a different configuration, but every so often I glance at some rifles and realize I probably won't shoot it again for quite awhile. Not that it's a bad gun, it just isn't the latest.

Yeah I've got this problem. I just don't have enough time/opportunity to make use of some older builds that frankly, just can't compete with more recent stuff I've built or bought (especially with a lot more disposable income). Mostly they're hanging around for nostalgia value. Just no other real use case. They're older than I want to rely on for courses/HD, they're not markedly different or more fun to shoot, etc.

I know some dudes are wired to enjoy building and hanging on to 30 variants of the mostly-same Aero build but candidly I just don't get it.

I like fooling with them but a 308, a 556 and a 6.5 Grendel for mid-power is all i really need, and can keep up with.

I keep extra parts around if I want to freshen up one of the existing.

May as well get a USASOC clone while you're at it.
Does your A4 clone have an ACOG?

Eh, I don't see any 6.5 gr or 9mm or 10mm, 50 beowulf, etc

Don't be a quitter...

no, not yet. the gun itself + the M5 RAS cost just as much as the ACOG.

none of my clones have optics, yet. but they will. they have carry handles for now.

those don't do anything for me. i'm a sucker for the sex appeal of the gun...

these aren't mine, but the look of them have a certain aura about them.

Thats where im at. I have a few 223/556s but since I added so many psa meme lowers I didn't want that many of the same round so have .22, 9mm, 300blk, 6.5g, 7.62x39, 308, 458socom, 50beowulf, and a .410. Next up is a 450bushmaster and a 223 wylde....and then i'll be done wink wink

I really want a 338 federal, off the 308 platform. But ammo is almost impossible to get here.

That’s only because you don’t have them.

I would like to build an 8.6 Blackout, but not until the ammunition is more available.

At $2.5 CPR it’s not going to last long as a round.

I took a look at the Q Fix in 8.6 BLK. Then they told.me it came with a free suppressor and I got interested. Then I saw the price tag of 3,400 for the gun and cost of ammo and realized I'm not that kind of baller.
