Chip Roy is fired up: “I want my Republican colleagues to give me one thing that I can go campaign on and say we did. Come explain to me one meaningful, significant thing the Republican majority has done.”

Ole Chip supported McCarthy. He can look in the mirror for the lack of accomplishments.

With respect to Mr. Roy, he’s begging to the wrong people …. his colleagues.

Everyone recognizes that Congress long ago abdicated their Legislative responsibilities to the K-Street Cowboys that fund their election campaigns ….. Mr. Roy needs to beg to the Lobbyists that provide indulgences in exchange for government support.

He fought it to the end and was one of only a handful who negotiated the compromise that was ultimately reached.
It’s unfair to crucify him for not being the sole member of Congress to hold out.

The Republican majority in the HOR can’t do anything without the Dems in the Senate and Joe Biden except say no.

I actually think most people dont know how bad it is. I recently learned from a staff member of a congressman that it costs major money to be put on decent committees. Some committees require 6 figure "donations" and the only realistic way to get that money is from K street.

I find that to be offensive. But i dont think it is at all common knowledge.

Well Mr Roy, you can start by going on the house floor and calling out your traitorous peers for failing to impeach Mayorkas and probably, eventually Joe Biden.

And you would consider that to be meaningful and significant?

Is the alternative worse bc, if so, you should. Otherwise, you end up with JBE.

I like Chip Roy, but he obviously knows that having a slim majority in only 1/3 of the government isn't going to yield any significant or meaningful change that he can campaign on. Unless his constituents are ok with him compromising with the Dems.

In fact Chip Roy barely needs to campaign at all, after redistricting turned his district safe (+20 republican) in 2022, he won his last re-election by 23%. The republicans in congress should do nothing except hold the line on spending and perform their oversight duties. The rest of their efforts should be focused on getting a larger majority in the house winning back the Senate and White House in 2024. That is the only way he will be able to return to his district with any significant results. What we've been doing for the last 7 years hasn't been working, we have to change direction.
