Our food supply is pretty screwed up, it's why people have allergies these days, and it's why the average person is so overweight. Foods just poison these days.

You better take this up with your ancestors that were doing this a few millennia ago. This is fear porn with food.
That's not true if we're using the USDA definition of bioengineering.
"The Standard defines bioengineered foods as those that contain detectable genetic material that has been modified through certain lab techniques and cannot be created through conventional breeding or found in nature."

You could just provide a link to the quote in the OP
even better would be providing a link to the PubMed Articles.

The label is due laws enacted. It's stuff we've all been eating for 70+ years that now has to be labeled bioengineered. This is no different than a biolab meaning the labs we used to dissect frogs in high school.
Beer is bioengineered considering fermentation is bioengineering under law.

The FDA only requires labeling for GMOs that couldn’t be created naturally through cross breeding or other techniques.
So it would be limited to the GMO things that have had gene spliced in.
I am always interested in reading any literature on whether these things do cause any medical conditions in humans.
