re: What’s the real purpose of these protests?

This is my explanation for everything, but I think they’re autistic loners whose parents didn’t want to have anything to do with them and yelled at them to get down there in that basement, and yes you can play on your computer as much and as long as you want, as long as you don’t come out and bother me. And throw a lunchable down there every now and then. Awkward souls who never made any friends and were outcasts….until they found some protest people to hang out with.

And there are others who are doing it so they don’t have to do anything else. “No mom, I can’t study or go to class….. I’m involved in a worthy cause!!”
