Why is Trump letting Biden off the hook for Afghanistan?

We spent 20 f**king years in Afghanistan, and the Taliban took the country back in less than 20 days. There isn’t a state in this country that didn’t have citizens die or be wounded over there, and that doesn’t even include the mental health issues from combat service. Why isn’t Trump hitting Biden with this on a daily basis? If I was Trump’s campaign manager I would be running ads of IEDs going off, the people falling off of planes, and the Taliban parading with American equipment ending with Joe Biden saying “I did that” every day. The collapse of Afghanistan is one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to the USA. The media is doing everything it can to help Americans forget it, and Trump is playing along and missing a golden opportunity to destroy Biden’s credibility.

Because Trump is smarter than you and doesn’t want to run a campaign that makes it look like he wants to go back into Afghanistan since one of his crowning achievements was negotiating the withdrawal?

Which is exactly why he should be hammering Biden. Trump negotiated a deal that got us out of Afghanistan, but Biden botched the withdrawal.

Because Trump is the one who set the deadline.

The illegitimate regime could do whatever it wanted to do in Afghanistan and the deadline to withdraw could have easily been delayed but they were eager to claim a win by saying they executed a successful withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The illegitimate regime totally ignored the plan that was agreed upon by the Trump administration. The original plan was a metered withdraw. It was understood by both sides the withdraw could take longer depending on Taliban behavior. Leaving a remnant force of 1500-2000 military personnel at Bagram AFB was also in the original withdraw plan under Trump.

The illegitimate regime said frick all that ^^^ noise.

This is true.

This is where I disagree. We should have withdrawn after Bin Laden got capped in 2011. One of the thing that is attractive about Trump as opposed to the neocons and neolibs is that he is anti-war. Why would he spend time firing up his base to get back in Afghanistan?

Trump is smart to avoid this.

Theres nothing he can say on the subject that will not alienate even parts of his own base.

Biden reversed every policy put forth by Trump. Why would he honor this one?

Trump set the deadline but Biden was in charge of meeting it and executing the withdrawal. Biden scrapped Trump’s withdrawal plan and we all have seen the results.

Trump is horrible at advocating his views. Vivek and Tucker are far better at it.

Millei is amazing at it.

Credibility does not matter to uni-party voters.

Too early. Many Americans have short memories, they get distracted easily by bright shiny objects.

The deep state will just dial up a shooting or two, or indict Trump on more silly charges.

He could talk about how the withdraw happened and not getting people out they should have.

But as far as Afghanistan going back to Taliban. That was going to happen with Trump too. Trump laid the groundwork to get troops out. It was his mission to get troops out and most of us Trump supporters were in favor.
We have to be honest with ourselves. The Taliban was going to control Afghanistan still with Trump in office.

I'm not convinced either that a Trump withdrawal would've been a lot better. I would like to think it would be and he would've gotten the Afghans out that had helped the US.

Trump wasn’t going to abandon Bagram, and he wasn’t going to abandon hundreds of millions of weapons and equipment.
