Florida Gators defensive back Dijon Johnson was arrested on May 2, 2025, in his hometown of Tampa, Florida. Johnson faces multiple charges:

-Possession of a controlled substance (third-degree felony)
-Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (second-degree felony)
-Possession of cannabis less than 20 grams (misdemeanor)
-Resisting an officer without violence (misdemeanor)

Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 197-pound junior cornerback, has appeared in 25 games over two seasons with the Gators, recording 29 tackles, two tackles for loss, two pass deflections, and one fumble recovery.

3rd degree possession of controlled substance is likely some oxy or similar. Without the gun, he would likely have gotten just a slap on the wrist.

We had guys with weed and guns that didn’t lose a day :lol: it’s hard to judge without knowing what he had. Our guy with “controlled substance” was a weed vape bc it’s considered concentrated.
