That said, I don't necessarily blame Lane for being miffed if he was "lied to" in order for Nix to check the box required to get out of his contract without having to pay the school.

Actually the language in Nix’s contract specifically states that he is to have play calling duties. It was the hold up. So if he doesn’t then he was lied to and has grounds for receiving his buyout.

We’ll just have him call a few scripted plays and be done with it. Pretty incredible that a coach is so childish that he has actively tried to prevent one of his coaches from moving up. But it’s par for the course for Lane.

right or wrong, its things like this that lend some to believe kiffin is still just immature and a ticking time bomb. he has the roster and potential to do enormous things this season......i just see him looking ahead of the process to see the future success and losing it all. maybe he'll prove me wrong.

Take it to court. I guarantee they will side with Nix on this one. All freeze has to do it let Nix “call in” the plays he wants him to. Hell he could just let him call one play per game and that fills the obligation of his contract.
Besides, ole miss would have the burden of proof here and how are you going to prove he’s not calling plays. Ole Miss would lose this case instantly.
