Jimmie, I am glad I have you on my team. And I appreciate you being humble with your new insider status.

Yep, and you don’t hire a TE coach when you don’t know who your OC will be, but in this case, they will be there for the interview. Keep in mind, Nagle still needs the official interview and there is a JF factor I’ll explain at later date

Appreciate the info

No one put it out there like Jimmie… No one else put their reputation on the line with this scoop.

He is now a coaching changes board legend...

bro it was posted on 12/25 on the 1.0 hot board by billy, then

on 1/9 in the hot board

quote:

If LSU does get into a position where Kelly hires a tight ends coach, we are still hearing Slade Nagle is a name to watch. He’s got some people on the LSU side who view him in high regard, and he comes with plenty of experience coaching tight ends at Tulane in addition to play-calling duties at the end of the Willie Fritz era. Nagle is a Louisiana guy with ties around the state, so it would also be a recruiting boost. I’ve heard a few other names tossed around for potential tight ends coach, but another notable name would be Russ Callaway. He coached the tight ends for Florida this past season, but LSU fans will remember him from his job as an LSU Senior Offensive Assistant and Analyst on the 2020 team.

on 1/4 by billy in the article new name to follow

quote:

If Sloan does land the play-calling duties, and option could be to hire an on-field staffer to fill the vacancy left at tight end by former offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, who left LSU for Notre Dame after calling plays and coaching the tight ends the past two seasons in Baton Rouge. If Kelly wanted to also hire a tight ends coach, a name we first reported on our initial hot board is in the mix in Tulane tight ends coach and offensive coordinator Slade Nagle.

Multiple sources tell The Bengal Tiger that Nagle is on LSU’s radar. Nagle coached the tight ends at Tulane for seven seasons before being named offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2023. Nagle did not join Willie Fritz’s staff in Houston after taking over as the interim offensive coordinator following Fritz’s departure from New Orleans.

Prior to Tulane, Nagle served as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator for the past four seasons at McNeese State, his alma mater. Before that, he spent time at Central Arkansas, Texas State, Northwestern State and LSU. Nagle served as a special teams analyst for the 2009 season in Baton Rouge.

Tulane’s tight ends were a big part of the Green Wave offense under Nagle. If LSU wants to keep the Lake Charles (La.) native in-state, he could be an option to bring in as tight ends coach.

This is still in the early stages, and much will depend on how Kelly wants to fill out his on-field coaches between offense, defense and special teams, but with the tight ends position open on the offensive staff, we’ve heard Nagle’s name mentioned by multiple sources.

atleast a week before you posted anything here they were talking about it and like i said, he was said to be in the mix as soon as denbrock left.

but congrats on your source...same source most of us pay $1 per year for....on3.

To be fair, on3 only said he was a possible option, not that he was definitely going to be hired. Jimmy may very well have just made a bold proclamation hoping it would come true, but what he claimed was more absolute than on3.

Chicken, love the praises for Jimmie, but how about the guy that confirmed it on the same day and called the Co-OCs? No worries, I rarely post what I know but knew there was no going back on the OCs and only one issue for TE. I honestly should’ve kept quiet on TE since it wasn’t quite 100%
