OK, I give. Nick Saban is the GREATEST COACH EVER. Alabama has superior recruiting and will win the SEC and be on the cusp of a NC next year. Oh, and Saban will only leave Bama in a pine box. Happy?

Noody in their right mind thinks that Nick Saban will leave Alabama to go to WVU. That would be like leaving the yankees to coach the birmingham barons. Not going to happen. I think he actually likes Alabama. The only job he would have left Alabama for is the LSU job if Miles had gone to Michgan and I honestly think he would have gone back to LSU this year. I think now he will stay at BAMA until he retires.

Love ya Scoop, but over the last 10 years, Bama has been more like the Barons and WV more like the Yankees.

In today's football, it is what do you have know, not what you had 10 years ago or what you might have tomorrow.

This thought of yours is so far within the realm of pure speculation that it approaches what we would call fantasy or wishful thinking. As such, it's not a thought that brings anything truly meaningful to a discussion about Alabama football.

I disagree with your statement.

I don't think we'll be on the cusp next year. 2009 is more like it.

Good to see you took this beatdown like a man though.

Saban is a putz.

He hightailed it to LSU, cause he knew he would never post a winning record against Michigan.

I am not a State fan persay, but I have always rooted for local teams if it doesnt involve Michigan. He screwed them up big time, and they still havent recovered.

Even now his 2 timing arse is always looking for the next job to jump to. This season was rumors of both LSU and WVU. You can say what ya want, but I believe there was at least a little bit of fire causing that smoke.

That was pretty smart of him. I would too. I don't expect Dantonio to be knocking UM around, especially with RR at UM now. But, it's nothing against Dantonio. Being at MSU, he just most likely won't get the recruits needed to do that.

Rocket my man...

Dantonio isnt the sharpest coach out there. Lets not even get into his "verbal war" with a college kid(Mike Hart) which was sad on his part.

Lets look at his entrance plan. O I am gonna be like Tres, and call out the Michigan game well in advance. He was clueless thinking he could do what Tres pulled with that upset victory, which started him on the road to god-like status for the OSU crowd....very smoothly played hand.

So after preaching the game well in advance, lo and behold they broke a few runs and did get the lead. He didnt know how to keep that lead. At home, and up in the 2nd half...no way we should of come back after them basing the season on that game...yet we did.

Now he has given the UM kids plenty of BB material to last yrs, he isnt getting any closer on recruiting status, and has a more offensive minded coach to play against. I see nothing but future head ache for him.

To add on to Deaux's post, I am going to say something a bit off the wall.

IF, by God I mean IF, we had managed to hold on to the lead with y'all, I think Bama would have won the rest of their games. Say the East goes on as it went and the Viles go to Atlanta with us. We pound the shite out of them again and win the title. You know where that probably puts us? New Orleans on the 7th.

I almost drowned on the Kool-aid on that one, didn't I? Ah well, it's always nice to speculate when your team goes on a skid...

Yes, you pretty much drowned on the Kool-aid there. Didn't know that much Kool-aid even existed.

I just had to add a few things:

1. In my opinion, Bama went 4-8 on the field this year. The Arky game was the biggest most blatant travesty of getting jobbed by the refs since Miami in the BCS championship game against OSU. Or maybe the 5th down. I mean it was that bad. It took a serious and concerted effort by refs and clock operator to give Bama a chance. Also, a questionable call against Ole Piss kept Bama from losing again.

2. Notwithstanding the two victories by ref, LSU tried very very hard to first not beat Bama by 30, then to give them the game outright. That was the biggest self destruction in the shortest period in the SEC all year yet Bama still lost.

3. IF Bama had been 9-2 going into the iron bowl, why would they have won? Tubs is a better big game coach than Saban any day of the week. AU has slightly more talent and were at home this year.

Anyway, Bama is 6-6 on the books and 5-7 or 4-8 on the field this year. The Arky game was a loss on the field (Ole Piss questionable).

Does it shock anyone that an Aub would chime in on our mediocre season.

The Arky game was the biggest most blatant travesty of getting jobbed by the refs since Miami in the BCS championship game against OSU.

Gimme a break. We would've just spiked the ball and scored on the next play.

Notwithstanding the two victories by ref, LSU tried very very hard to first not beat Bama by 30, then to give them the game outright. That was the biggest self destruction in the shortest period in the SEC all year yet Bama still lost.

You do realize that Bama was up by 20 against Arkansas right? Which is it Aubie, because you can't have it both ways. One of these two lame excuses has to be for naught.

IF Bama had been 9-2 going into the iron bowl, why would they have won?

I don't think we would've won, but the team would've been different. The outlook would've been different. Again, I don't think we would've won, but a win against LSU just presents a different team. By the way, if you can say we are 4-8 or whatever then we can prognasticate on this.

Also, there were 30 pictures in the paper on Monday where the WR from Ole Miss touched the ball first. So it WAS the right call.

How about you just go back to beating Tony Franklin off. The men are talking here Betsy.

Sorry to inform you but you are also an "outside" fan "chiming in" on an LSU board. Did I ever ask Alabama fans to chime in on this thread? Seriously, most of us are not interested in hearing your Red Koolaid Drinking comments about the state of Alabama football. This thread WAS about the possibility of Saban going to WVU which is probably nil. Just enjoy your $4mil coach and hope he squeezes out more than 6 wins next year and beats the "gimme" teams on your schedule.

This is not for yor Scoop. We all still know you are a closet LSU fan!

5 to 7 years away from contending? Yeah right, we were 3 minutes away.

You were 6-6 and 1 minute away from losing the Indy Bowl and going 6-7.

They were one second (Arkansas game) away from not even getting to enjoy the holiday season on Shreveport.
