That’s not true, he’s adapted everywhere he’s been. If we’re full of athletes, he’s not going to force them to play in a methodical offense where we don’t utilize our athletes.

Also spread is just a philosophy. Plenty of teams play big boy smashmouth football out of a spread. I’m sure Kelly wants a balanced team but he’s knows our strength is in our wideouts.

Not only that, big boy smashmouth football is actually more effective out of the spread because it opens up the middle of the LOS for more wide-open running lanes especially at the second level. Think opposite of Les Miles.

Balanced isn't 50% run, 50% pass. Balanced is spreading it out to all your playmakers no matter the position. That way the defense can't key in on one player. If you're 50% run then you're more than likely giving half of your offensive touches to 1 guy in the running back position. There's nothing balanced about that.
