It seems like we may be lacking on NIL deals. Is this public information? How do we see where we rank in attracting deals for our players?

Guy on Rant made an excellent point. Need TAF to get a yearly budgeted $$ amount (millions) and use this to award star players.

We paid all this money for our coach when no one is realizing you need a much larger fund for these players year in and out due to NIL

Jacoby Matthews might go to fricking A&M because he’s likely getting paid.. that’s unacceptable for him to go there due to finances

LSU has to get their shite together

They are paying upward of $1 million for players. The wr that commited to A&M just received $300k. You need a massive recruiting budget to keep up. It's NFL free agency with no salary cap now.

Mark my words, A&M is going to be a disaster over the next year or so bringing in all these highly ranked kids with NIL money they would never get. Their locker room culture is going to be a nightmare.

Or they will be very good and win a lot of games. Their class is incredible

I want to see NIL deals for the big time locals to keep them from going elsewhere. Cali kids in LA aren’t panning out. Then focus on TX, FL, GA, MS, TN, AL.

I guess it’s possible, but not likely for Aggy. They always find a way to screw things up. I believe players in their locker room will get disgruntled knowing some guys are making life changing money and others aren’t. It’s a very slippery slope especially with the transfer portal available.

That’s a possibility at any school in the country. It’s already happening to us.

It’s happening everywhere. NIL will just expedite player frustrations if they feel like they aren’t getting what they deserve. Unintended consequences…

how is it against any rules to create some businesses to pay out the NIL budget annually?

I guess you cant be able to directly connect the coaches to choosing the dollar amounts and the players. you'd have a middle man i guess?

but why not make "bubba's barber shop" give out 300 k to player a, "tommy's pickle shop" gives recruit y x amount, etc

Nobody is or should imply fraudulent businesses to break the rules. I’m talking about legitimate businesses that pay for advertising to partner with LSU athletes to attract the best talent to Tiger stadium. We gotta keep up with Bama, Kirby, and Jimbo.

It was originally about allowing NIL value in a free market. The means less so. And TAF is not part of the school itself. It's a private non-profit. It is possible for them to create an entity by which players can receive NIL money.

Name, Image, Likeness. It means players can profit off of people knowing who they are. It doesn’t mean the university can pay its players.

LSU has partnered with businesses. That’s about the extent of what you can do. Maybe get some consultants on AD staff, but I’d be surprised if there weren’t resources for that here already.

All I know is LSU needs to get with the program quick, because they will lose recruits.

You think a program that just paid $17 million to fire a guy isn’t actively researching how they can leverage the new money law? They know what’s kosher vs what isn’t.

I haven’t seen any report stating anything about LSU falling behind. Did you expect us to out-recruit A&M without knowing what next year’s staff looks like?

Everyone needs to relax because this offseason is going to get worse before it gets better.
