After banging my head and wanting open standard devices.
I installed a ton of Lutron Caseta. Best choice ever. They are rock solid. Stable as hell. Zero issues. Not one time.
They are expensive but they are by far the best option. They tie into Home Assistant and Home Bridge so I can integrate into basically anything I want.
Then you can turn around and use Pico remotes to trigger automations to other platforms.

I forgot about the pico remotes. I had a light that has no switch. I pushed a whole caseta switch into the ceiling hooked to the light and put the pico remote on the wall.
