So is this stupid day?

Don't tell that to the lunatics on the OT Lounge. Muh democracy! Muh sovereignty! And most of them were likely diehard Iraq War supporters back in the day.

Tyranny by one, or one thousand, is still tyranny.

If this isn’t followed up by “oligarchy is also incompatible with freedom. Down with all government!,” then you are showing your true colors.

One tyrant can only do so much. A 1000 tyrants is much more expensive and has the energy of Chuck Norris.

I'm saying this b/c "Democracy" is some magic word our rulers are evoking when talking about human rights and currently, Ukraine.

That's why we live in a constitutional republic.

No, but I think liberalism eventually consumes itself (in part due to democracy and in the process, erosion of freedoms)

In terms of making government decisions, some sort of majority rules paradigm is still the best possible model without resorting to anarchy.
That’s why neither House of Congress passes anything without some sort of majority. By Constitutional convention, the House is simple majority and Senate *can* be simple majority but also has the option for several types of super majority.

You mean the liberalism of Thomas Jefferson, William Leggett, and Mark Twain?

constitutional republic
A term whose definition doesn’t preclude democratic principles.

No, it's incompatible with equality. And while I'm at it, the new term 'equity' is stupid. Equity is how much money you've paid into your mortgage.

One must remember that democrarats define democracy as a government where democrats run everything. Once you understand that… the constant cries of “a threat to our democracy” starts to make a lot more sense.
