You're wrong about that. We do need to blitz more. And how many did we bring? 5. Come on man. We never blitz and it killed us all night against florida. We sat back with the field spread out just like they wanted us to.

JP, your writing is very familiar. Did you work at the Rev? If so, I know you, and I wish I had run into your as* at the game.
Great analysis. I hate getting stomped like that, but I was a student at LSU during that tragic '99 season. This ain't '99. I sit next to an tOSU fan at work, and I still would put my boys up against his. Also, my brother is an Auburn alum and a diehard Auburn Tiger. It could be worse -- we could play every team close and lose every game.
I hope the players feel like they have something to fight for now. People all over the country are looking at this team like a joke. They're saying LSU may have the talent on paper, but they can't come through in the clutch.
We are at a crossroads. Our Tigers can take this -- yes, humiliating -- loss and do something with it to become a better football team, or they can roll over. I believe that we will rise to the occasion. 9-3 is fine with me. Hell, 0-12 would be fine with me, as long as they're playing their hearts out. I didn't see that Saturday. Those intangibles that made the team last year so special -- urgency, intensity, discipline and heart -- seem to be lacking. For this fan, that is the biggest disappointment. Hopefully this loss will help the players regain that fighting spirit. And I don't want to see smack-talking and dancing and BS EVER, especially when we're getting our as*es handed to us.

I agree. When we whupped MOO State last year they were not as bad as we made them look. We are not as bad as we looked against Florida.

We definitely need to see improvement, and I trust that we will.

Remember how many nail-biters we won last year?
SC is a toss-up game @ SC. Spurrier hasn't forgotten that game - he figured out late in the game last year what Moo State figured out against this defense - the dump off to the back out of the backfield is wide open almost every time and you can sustain long drives with this one play.

It's pretty much a must win for this team with Georgia and Alabama still to be played. Hopefully, the Tigers will play with urgency.

WELL SAID, my man. And Urban will probably choke on the Zoloft he so desperately needs.

Great post!!! While I am still upset with the sting of a loss like that. I do trust the hat. He is too competitive not make adjustments.

With that being said, I think LSU is at a point now where we should never be blown out like that. I will always support my tigers though and I am looking forward to seeing them play again this weekend.

You said it man. We always get burned by the rb out of the backfield.

You are mostly correct on the novella that you wrote, but what you fail to address is HOW WE LOST. We got arse-raped by 30 points. The team quit in the 4th quarter. The coaches made almost ZERO adjustments to what they were doing. These are bad signs.

I agree with you on the loss, I expected it, even predicted it pre-season but I never expected to get blown out in such an embarrasing fashion. There's more to it than 'we just got beat by a better team'. That was an ominous sign. Not saying it is uncorrectable and I fully beleive Les is going to go great guns at them this week to try to get it corrected.

But just as you say there is a fine line between winning and losing in the SEC, there is a fine line between 'getting it' and 'not getting it', and right now, it sounds to me like our coaching staff does not get it.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you man ... we need to be more creative and agressive on defense. My line there was just to point out that there's two sides to every story, as many LSU fans tend to forget when they get emotional. Be more agressive on defense, certainly, but also realize that it's going to come back to bite you in the arse sometimes, and it did in that first Florida possession. I really think our DCs got timid the rest of the game in regards to pressure after getting burned on that first blitz and Harvin's TD.

I don't think the game would have turned out any differently had that play not gone the way it did, but one of the biggest reasons that we lost was the mere fact of falling behind so quickly on the road.

It goes one of two ways which may seem self-evident.

1. the team rebounds and plays fundamentally sound fball

2. More likely. We lose another four games, three blow out losses to SC, UGA and 'Bama.

Not good.

True, I think LSU feared Tebow's running ability and wanted to contain him rather than try to sack him.

Aight ... i'll check it when I'm home. Facebook is blocked on my work laptop, haha. Probably a good thing. God forbid they ever ban TD on my work computer or I wouldn't have anything to do at work.
