Fishing anywhere in the hatched area (basically the intracoastal waterway and anyplace south of that) requires a saltwater license even if it is freshwater.

If in doubt, Just add saltwater on to the license. It’s $5 or $10 bucks! It’s not like you’re paying for a deer hunting license and all you want to do is shoot squirrels.
