Looking for one that can get the job done, but is also easy to restring. Thanks in advance.

check prices on replacement batteries

i love my ryobi but to buy another battery costs $10 less then buying another weedeater brand new

my dads black and decker battery cost $25 while a ryobi batter is over $100

The Ego has great power, and it's so easy to restring. Literally, you poke the string through a hole, then press a button.

If you have cordless tools, look for the same brand and get that one. I have a bunch of Milwaukee tools and they also make a weed eater so I got that one ( they sell it without the battery) and it will save you a few bucks.

I got the Ego trimmer with the carbon fiber shaft. Works like a dream and plenty of power. Like the guy above me said, extremely easy to restring. If you're an OT baller, you could get the new one that will automatically sense the length of string and let out a little at a time to keep it at the same length at all times.

Ego.

Weed eater and blower are legit.
Push mower gets the job done if you need to do a little tight space work.
Father in law has a chain saw that he likes.

That zero turn is intriguing but $5,500…

Ryobi 40v. Will last years.
Batteries last a long time.
I have three now as I have a chainsaw that also uses the same battery.

I know people say pick a brand, buy all their stuff, etc. I got an EGO mower last year, but still have my Ryobi 40v that’s pretty old and just won’t die. I’ve replaced the battery once with one of the $50 refurbs or whatever off eBay.

My neighbor has had Ryobi everything for a long time and told me a few things that have helped me keep this aftermarket reject battery going for at least 3 years or so.

1. Don’t run it down until it’s totally dead. Put it on the charger once you realize you’re down to one bar.

2. Don’t run it wide open when it’s hot outside and get your battery really hot. It’s not bad to run it wide open, just give it a to cool off when you do. I didn’t do that with the original it came with, and have noticed that if you do, when you can come back to it, sometimes will put another bar of energy on the display that was previously gone.

3. Don’t put it on the charger when it’s hot. Let it cool in the shade/inside for a little while before you put it back on the charger.

4. Don’t use it in the rain, or let it get wet.

I’m not sure if all this was in the manual or not. I usually wipe my arse with manuals.

Ego with solid carbon shaft. The new automatic head and old automatic head are both great. I have the old version and you just slide the string in, get it even and hold the button and it winds itself.

I had dewalt before, it doesn't hold a candle and I know it is better than the Ryobi.

Add me to the list of happy 40v Ryobi owners. I'm also very happy their 40v hedge trimmer and 40v pole saw.

My Echo cordless and works great! I mean, it uses gas but it is cordless, technically.

But to answer the question, I’m going to buy the Ego carbon fiber shaft model. Loading string is the worst part of trimming for me and that auto-load head seems too good to be true. Tons of great reviews and I might get a mower next Spring.

Add yet another to the 40v Ryobi camp. Have had mine 4 years now with zero issues. Hard to beat for the price

Shindiawa T242. Will burn less than 2 gallons of mixed gas a year on the typical lawn.

I have two weed eaters from Worx. One is for heavy brush cutting and the other (smaller) one is for day to day trimming around the house. They both use the same batteries. I have been very happy with everything I got from Worx.
