The Weber Performer is the way to go, IMO. You have a decent sized prep table and charcoal storage built in. The four wheels make it very stable, as well, with room to hang your grill brush, tongs, and spatula, as well as space underneath for your chimney.

I love mine and have cooked a lot of good food on it and learned a hell of a lot about cooking with fire.

I would recommend the Slow and Sear with metal drip plan. That makes two zone cooking a snap and cleanup up a breeze (keeps the grease from mixing with the ash), so it doesn't get all gunked up.

Sam’s Club has a new Member’s Mark grill that’s modeled on the Weber performance. Only $299. Charcoal with gas start.
