At the most basic core of the problem, you are correct. However, there are some uncomfortable facts some people refuse to acknowledge. If these facts were acknowledged and dealt with accordingly, gun violence would be greatly reduced. Namely, the destruction of the nuclear family and the glorification of the thug culture are a huge, huge part of the problem.
