Random question but this made me wonder has anyone ever tried Chinese Kitchen on Carrollton? Place has been around since the 70s and I never see anyone go in or out lol. Also had Five Happiness for lunch today and it’s always been my favorite because it’s classic Chinese American food.

I really enjoyed Marjie's (Southeast Asian), however my favorite place is probably Mantra.

Vietnamese: Tan Dinh
Chinese: China Doll (rip China Blossom)
why: they have good food and have been around long enough to know they'll be consistent

Pour one out for Kin and Namese. Two solid spots pre Covid.

Good thread. I’ve heard good things about Luvi but never been. Can anyone here weigh in?

Lot of good ones here.
Secret Thai in Chalmette is the big one I don't see already.
Le's Baguette behind Sacred Heart
Turmeric Indiana on the wank
Green Tea and Five Happiness are my OG go-to American-Chinese places
Mantra is awesome. Also if you journey up to Hammond, Punjabi is great.
Cho Thai and their sister Banana Blossom are both very good.
Pho Orchid and PO Express out in Metry
Yakuza is sushi that will rival the best in New York and Chicago. Do not expect rolls, cream cheese, tempura, etc... It is old school traditional sushi and it is amazing. Make reservations.

Banh Mi Boys. I typically hate asian cooking except when it gets Americanized and the meatballs in their banh mi tastes and look like meatballs. Ive had some traditional banh mi and that shite is gross. Banh Mi Boys for the win.

Lately my new favorite is Em Trai on veterans. Pulled pork, fried shrimp, the Roti, tacos, ban mi, lemon grass pork is just the start. Really good food and reasonable.
