Stevenson hit by pitch question.

Would the ball coming off the catcher's mitt and then hitting the batter still be considered hit by pitch? Looks to me like it did bounce out of his glove and hit him in his left thigh. He reacted by pointing to his leg as he turned around towards first.

It went off the initial call. In real time, the umpire most likely made a call based on his reaction. The call couldn’t be overturned because the replay angle was inconclusive to reverse.

All of those calls were weird. My opinion was Berry was the only one hit, the others didn’t get hit. The only one that didn’t get the call was Berry.

Over head angle looked like the ball changed directions, meaning it came off his foot into the catcher’s mitt.
