Driving West Coast Highway 101/1

We started driving Highway 101/1 on the West Coast ten years ago where it starts/ends in Washington State. We have taken 2 trips out there to complete it and have made it South to San Fransisco.
This week we plan on completing the trip, starting in San Diego and making our way North to San Fran, ending with a stay in Napa for a few days.
We fly into San Diego around noon on Thursday and are meeting people in Santa Rosa, CA on Saturday, so we will have 3 days to spend on the road.
We already booked rooms in Dana Point, CA and Morro Bay, Ca. This puts us driving 4-6 hours each day, leaving plenty of room to explore.
Any tips or ideas on places to eat or check out while we are traveling?
