Binge watched the shite and was satisfied.. Could have been a bit more bad-arse but I'll never complain about a Star Wars film.. The chick playing Reva did a great job..she was tough.. They need to let Vader show his power at some point

Palpatine was good at creating blind spots for Jedis and he was probably good at doing that to Vader as well. I don't think Vader ever had the full respect of Palpatine because his potential was diminished after he was carved up by Obi Wan.

I am going to take a leap of faith in that he made Vader believe his kids were dead and/or not pursue them. Likewise, Palpatine tells Vader to let the Obi Wan thing go because his goal all along was to get Obi Wan to train Luke, then get Luke to kill Vader and turn to the dark side.

I don't think you have to take a leap of faith on that one

He was told his pregnant wife had died (by his hand after choking her) - that's the context of this scene

Palpatine lied and told Vader his wife (and by extension the kids, even though he didn't realize she was pregnant with twins) was dead by the hand of Vader to manipulate Vader to the darkside

Obiwan told Luke that his father was dead by the hands of Vader as well - to convince him to kill Vader because no one else could except Obiwan, of course, because he whipped his arse. So really, Obiwan just wanted to spend time with children.

Just watched the finale and enjoyed it. Had a few questions though like how did Reva make the connection that it was Luke on Tatooine that was “the boy” and immediately go after him?

Also Obi Wan has a shite load of blood on his hands after letting Darth live not once but twice when having him defeated

Easily best episode but the whole thing was a game of thrones style disappointment. And given they mocked the fans for being excited about Luke, and character assassinating him in TLJ, it def seems like they're going to try to rewrite everything to set up Leia as the """real""" hero.

I will say that of all the characters in this show, the only one I have a higher opinion of now than I did before I watched is Owen.

He stood up to Reva twice, clearly loves Luke, and didn't snitch on Ben when he has the chance... And didn't reveal pivotal information like Bail's dumbass

Literally the dumbest thing about the series, which is saying something.

"I will destroy you" or whatever the line was.

Then at the end of the fight when he has him beat: "J/K lol, I'm going to walk away while you're still alive...AGAIN."

I mean Yoda refers to this a few times. He states there is another. He also mentions a prophecy misread it could be. Star wars leaves it pretty ambiguous about who that is about. Luke wouldnt be successful if it wasnt for all the hard work Leia was doing. Even in the OT she was a huge part of things

it was misinterpreted by the jedi, and no there is no ambiguity to it. Anakin is the chosen one, no ifs ands or buts about it. The Clone Wars animated series made that quite clear. Luke is not the chosen one. and when he mentions "another", that simply means another person that could help turn Anakin to defeat the emperor, since it's his offspring.

obviously they didn't foresee that the prophecy meant the jedi had to be wiped out, as well as the sith.

They were pretty stupid to think that the prophecy of "bring balance to the force" meant to kill the Sith only and leave the Jedi. Where's the balance there ole wise one Yoda?

Anakin destroyed what the jedi had become, as well as the Sith. that was the prophecy fulfilled. Now all that is left is Luke, Leia, and a few other Jedi who aren't associated with the ways of the old jedi to start over again and hopefully not make the same mistakes the jedi made that led to the creation of the Sith and the arrogance of the jedi over thousands of years.

Obi Wan has no idea of what VADER "COULD" become. They did a remarkable job of helping to understand Obi Wan's true love for Anikin as a brother. He didn't walk away from winning with any thought of Vader being the BIG BAD in the future, only that his brother was truly dead.

I’m happy i didn’t watch past the first two episodes.
It was blatantly obvious where it was going.

It’s the same formula over and over again

He’s seen Vader slaughter all his Jedi brothers and sisters along with countless others, lead the Empire to complete control of the galaxy as enforcer for the Emperor, but yet he still walked away not knowing how bad Vader was?

There is no future evil that would ascend Vader to a further level of bad, he was already there. That’s not why he walked away.

He walked away because this show was full of plot holes and dog shite writers.

A New Hope - Leia’s message to Obi-Wan if viewed after this show…

“Obi-Wan, (wait should I remind him that he went on a rescue mission into the Inquisitor Fortress to save me 9 years ago from that dumbass Inquisitor? Or that I fixed the bay doors while he fought off 100 storm troopers so that all those civilians and us could escape? Or that he tried to groom me when he departed Alderaan? Nah, I’ll just go with this) “You served my father in the Clone Wars…”

yeah, there is no logic to Obi Wan letting Vader live a second time.

On mustafar, there was no reason for Obi-Wan to expect him to survive. He was down 3 limbs and sitting in lava.

Here, he was just having trouble breathing. Why risk it? Kill him.

I could see if reinforcements were coming or Vader did a last minute earthbending thing to take down some pillars on Obi-Wan so they got separated.

Wtf? Get out of here Kathleen. Leia never did shite. Did she blow up the death star either time? No. Did she steal the plans for it? No. Did she fight Vader? No. Palpatine? No. She helped the ewoks and got her stupid arse captured a whole bunch of times.

We said the same thing here at the office. It would have been so easy to write an escape for Vader and not just Obi Wan letting him live and walk away minutes after he said he would destroy him

I mean that's a pretty slow, agonizing way to die.

OBW knew 3 things for certain

1) Vader was closer to discovering the identity of his kids than ever
2) Vader was growing stronger
3) He was the only person left that could take out Vader thus handicapping the emperor

And yet he let him live. Plus his faith in 3rd sista not exposing the kids was still very weak, because he rushed to Tatooine to stop her

There is no competent storyteller on the planet that could allow Vader to survive going forward. Kennedy wants all girl power stories, but in her gut knows that DV and OBW are still the drawing cards. You tell the same story using only Leia and 3rd sista and Idira, and no one watches

This miniseries is reminiscent of sticking Laura Dern in command from out of nowhere in the final trilogy. Her entire story line was a Huge WTF? Oh I forgot. Female!

Just finished the show and I’ve just got to say I’d rather eat dingleberries than watch it again.
