Most of what people are complaining about are all the things that have changed nationwide. Pussification of America.

Yep, that number is dwindling by the year. I have no kids but the vast majority of my nieces and nephews and their friends have nowhere near the passion we did. The go for the party and social media pics and have only a passing interest in the game itself, if at all.

So you’re telling me, that they would not place Mikes portable cage around the opponents locker room? Interesting…

Looked like your post said “in” the locker room.

Yes, he was placed near the locker room to intimidate them as they entered the field.

starting to look like that was more of a fad or temporary tradition, I think we had mandatory ROTC for freshmen men longer than that

We once enjoyed a truly intimidating stadium.
I would still love to see it. But I don't understand how a tiger in a cage rolling around the stadium is intimidating.

The final parking spot was always at the visiting team tunnel. As the team would run out into Tiger Stadium, they had to pass by a live tiger.

Whether intimidating or not, it surely was unique and those players will never forget that.

Tiger Stadium looking like the Roman Coliseum all around. It added to the intimidation factor for other teams.

You must not remember how awesome it was to walk through campus before the changes. It was a massive party and the crowds were incredible. Today, they limit the number of tailgates and it’s much more sparse as you buildup to the stadium.

2007 LSU/Florida game had 100K in the seats and 100K outside watching. That gameday experience has not happened even in the amazing 2019 season.

Let's face the facts. Social media has ruined the college and pro football experience. People spend more time taking selfies and texting on their phones than watching the game itself.
You see it every Saturday and Sunday when the camera scans the fans. All heads pointed down looking at the phone.
The greatest thing about the 1960s-70s was there were no phones and no internet. People actually had to watch the games and interact with each other. I miss those days.

We've taken on some dumb traditions in recent years (jersey numbers). So it evens out.
