I think Bucknam will be a solid reliver for us this season. Interested to see how his outings in the cape go.

I don't know that, even with some of those guys taking a step forward, we get Ty Floyd's inning count from that group combined next season.

And I think Moffett and Bucknam will take a step forward.

He went 4 inning of 1 run baseball last night with 4 hits and 1 walk. But he only struck out 1.

I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with your post. I was just putting numbers and names out there. I don't think the RHP is a great scenario, but like I said I think it is ok. Also mentioned that guys like Collins, Dutton, Little, Moffett, and Bucknam will need to take a step up.

All that said, everyone has the myth of LSU hitting against LHP is terrible. Most of our arguments is that when you look around the country, everyone struggles with LHP more than RHP. So with a stable of capable LHP, I'm not really worried about having a ton of RHP. Get Holman on board and I think the pitching staff will be fine.

I like some of the upside of these guys, but yea finding guys to fill the innings that Skenes/Floyd gave is going to be hard. Especially if you start to account for the annual injuries that are bound to happen.

And then you start looking at playoff innings, when they really condensed things and buckled down, they are losing a ton.

All that to say, it will be a work in progress. Not sure how we can laud depth at this point.

I think this comment kind of hits it on the head. A lot of arms available but not many proven. The work in progress will be real with this staff and it will definitely take multiple guys to take a step up to get the team and staff where they need to be.

Yep, but Noot wont be ready til minimum mid season

How certain are you of this? It was my understanding he had TJ before the season started, perhaps well before the season started. I know they’ll ease pitchers in fresh off TJ, but if he had TJ in say December of 2022, there’s no reason to say with certainty he won’t be ready until mid-2024.

Kendall Rogers just Tweeted Luke Hill from Arizona State is expected to enter the portal today before it closes.

Freshman SS from Episcopal in BR. Hit .314 with 6 home runs this year.

Well that's interesting. I wasn't expecting that.

Luke Hill is interesting given we didn't push for him out of HS...would be a welcomed addition.

Mosconoa said the night LSU won the title that Luke Hill wanted to transfer to LSU. That he knew the family.

Not to sound like a weirdo but there's a pic of him with an LSU golf shirt on in Omaha watching us vs Tennessee lol so the fandom is obvious

100%. I try to remind myself that we’re never as deep as it seems on paper. We went in to spring practices wondering how could Jay/Wes possibly find enough innings, considering all of the potential starting options. Within two months, Taylor, Shores, and Edwards go down and what seemed like the deepest part of the team go flipped on it’s head.

I don’t think it’s safe to feel like you have enough pitching until you are nearing the postseason and you start realizing that some good arms are going to see fewer innings.

ETA: Apologies for my post now looking like backtracking. The Luke Hill news broke while I was typing that out.

Seems he started day 1 at SS for Arizona State and stayed there so I would imagine he is capable.

Did a little digging and the weekend they played State he went 5/12 on the weekend. Conference only he hit .250. 15 errors on the season with a .938 fielding percentage. Not terrible as a freshman. He needs to improve on it each year.

Seems like a good take as a freshman with 2 years of eligibility left.
