Really not sure but she’s got big boots to fill.

Not sure how many unprepossessing females are out there whose ability to come off like a pretentious snob can only be matched by her complete ignorance and overt disinterest in her job.

Gonna be a tall order for her successor

Luke Johnson is the only recent one worth his salary.

Connor Benge from LSUE is transferring to Dallas Baptist for this fall it looks like. He was a guy we were evaluating out of high school. He was committed to A&M at one point. Originally from Louisiana I think, but grew up in Texas. We were still following him on social media so I kept him on my target list, but I don't know how seriously we were after him.

He was only at LSUE for one year.

Koki Riley has a couple baseball articles out today on the Advertiser site.

Jake Brown will be a two way player. Fidel Ulloa is confirmed to be the only JUCO transfer for this year. Neal re-aggravated his injury on the Cape but should be ready for the fall. His swing is being re-tooled to prevent future injury. Tommy White will be out for a while with injury.

I'm still hoping for a press conference, but so far there have been two articles based off one interview Riley did with Jay.

Here's the article. It's his shoulder seems like they are giving it a rest this fall. Jay says he was playing with it not 100% all season.

For not being 100% and many questioning his defense prior to this season, I think White played a nice 3B.

I don’t mind tanks sitting for the fall. We know what he can do. But that’s a lot more reps for the guys that we need to learn about.

Tommy may have been our best defensive 3rd baseman since Josh Smith. Weird to say but unless I’m missing someone we haven’t had a lot studs there. Maybe not best but just as good would probably be a better statement.

Berry
Mathis
Reid
Slaughter

Slaughter would be the only one I would argue over.

To be fair I haven’t looked at their stats and could be well off base.

I know you meant Josh Smith, but he was really a SS. Point stands, though. Tommy played a nice 3B, considering most thought him a 1B/DH guy. I was skeptical, too, but he far exceeded my expectations.

I'm not looking at stats, either, but Ibarra was the stud that came to mind at 3B. He was 10 yrs ago, though.

Berry got legitimately better from beginning to end that season. Tommy White was above expectations throughout. We may never put out a true defensive lineup with regularity, but the signs that the defense is being coached up are there.

For sure. Berry was a nice 3B once he got healthy and had consistent reps over there. After seeing it progress, I never worried about Berry or White as a defensive liability that was promised a position so he could hit for us.

I think Tommy White committed 1 error the entire postseason and it was when we were down 9 or 10 runs in the 2nd game vs Florida.

Yeah Tommy really stepped up his defensive play when it counted the most which was impressive. He was a lot more athletic of a 3rd baseman than I expected.

Wouldnt surprise me, he took a big step back last season. Wonder if Jay was straight with him and said best to look elsewhere as a grad transfer to play more somewhere else maybe in December transfer window?

We do have to trim the roster down some a bit still.

Seo and Lape as pitchers only sheds some light on a lot of recent juco follows being infielders.

Jay holding a press conference today at Noon to discuss the roster and such. Should be on all the usual places (YouTube, FB, etc).

Good deal. I figured it was coming. I'll start the new thread this week, maybe as soon as this afternoon.
