But he was subbing for Ferguson at that point, IIRC.

I think in the 60’s and 70’s and maybe part of the 80’s Ferguson and Walter Hill did the radio broadcast

Doug Moreau was sideline reporter. Moreau and Pat Screen did the postgame show at some rowdy restaurant/bar. The Place I believe it was called.

Sid Crocker had the perfect voice for doing stadium announcing both in TS and the PMAC. It was a booming, scintillating voice.

Crocker was the booth announcer for WAFB. When I think of football in Tiger stadium that’s the voice I hear. I guess because that was the first and only for so many years. Born 1950 and graduated from LSU 1972.

Borne used to read scripture at St. Aloysius and I'd get chills because it sounded like we were in Tiger Stadium. It was pretty electric for 9 AM Sunday Mass.

Sid and John Ferguson set the bar really high. Their tone may never be matched.

Dan Borne is at St Jean Vianey in Baton Rouge now. Weird hearing that familiar voice in church!

Not sure if serious. The "Voice of the Crimson Tide" that roughly coincided with Ferguson at LSU?

Yeah, that made me skeptical too, but this info comes from someone who should be unusually knowledgeable on this subject. Also interesting is this Advocate article. Zeanah Obit

In the mid 70's we used to hang out at The Pastime Bar. I guess it is still there. Funny thing was who sat where. From 2 to 5 were old retired guys who had their special seat at the bar. Younger crowd showed up after 6 and John Mahaffey and Sid Crocker would show up from 7 to 9 after their 6 o'clock news show and before their 10 o'clock show. They were pros as you could not tell they had been drinking.

Also, there was a time when Sid did commentary on the in studio wrestling shows.

I used to think, "I'd never want to be a doctor if I had to leave a game."

One day in the late 70s I was at the Pastime having a cocktail at the bar while waiting for my lunch order. In comes Bill Black (Buckskin Bill) in his nice suit. He sat next to me, ordered a drink and began a pleasant conversation. Really nice man and a total gentleman.

Didn't Tiger Vision have its own crew separate from the radio broadcast?

Yes I think Greg Bowser may have been one (at one time) but I can’t think of the PBP guy.
