My immediate reaction when I heard he announced he was returning was negative. Yes, he's a great talent, but there just seems to be something off about him, and it's not good for the team. My thinking is if he does change his mind and declare for draft, it gives Nabers and BTJ the chance to really shine, not to mention open more opportunities for our younger studs coming in.

Perhaps Boutte is enrolled in Winter Intersession in order to be eligible for the Spring Semester. You can’t skip any classes during Intersession. Winter Intersession runs from 12/15-1/6. Winter Holiday is from 12/23-1/2.
Maybe Coach Kelly just wants him to concentrate on grades at this point.

This makes the most sense. No excuse for this though. Kelly talked about graduating champions including players only staying 3 years.
