That’s why we have a Constitution and the courts. The majority doesn’t always get what they want.

Besides we have a Republic. The majority doesn’t pick the president. States are given equal weight in the Senate. There are checks built into our system.

There are people who think we have and want a democracy.

We don't, and i would never live under a direct democracy. The 50.1% can vote to kill the 49.9 and there's no constitution to protect you.

"Our democracy" is a chant from uninformed shitheads.

What?? The Constitution is some magical republican-protection device? The Constitution isn't shite but a piece of paper. Once everyone in the government wipes their arse with it, then it doesn't even exist anymore.

We are in a delayed democracy. The politicians appoint the judges. Do you think the 9th circuit court follows the constitution?
