actually its not 49 to 51.
its more like 24 to 25.
49% do not vote.
70% register and of those who register under 70% vote.
.7 x .7 = .49
and yes we as a society agree that whomever wins wins and the losers do not pretend they really won.

I wasn't even arguing this. I gave you the premise that the elections were "free and fair". Even if that's the case, why does that slim majority (the 51%) get to suck the 49% dry and attempt to silence and disarm them? Under what pretense should the slim minority (49%) simply submit to a tyrannical (51%) just because Joe Scarborough cried about "Democracy" on the morning melt.
