I was driving a car on a dark road. Smoked a 12 foot alligator that was across the whole lane. I didn't see it till the last second and didn't know what it was untill I stopped and got out. I was not drinking. To sit here and blame the driver is crazy. We also don't know all the details of why they were cleared so fast. What if they had a dash cam ? Or some skid marks from trying to stop ?

agreed. Anyone who has ever hit a dog or anything else standing in a roadway at night knows its not like you have a lot of time to act/react- regardless of how fast you're going. Thats why I don't get his obsession with it.

And look, I would have laughed at anybody posting shite like that 2-3 years ago - but seriously - how far away from that are we? BRPD/EBRSO has shown zero cause for action of concern. LSU has shown VERY LITTLE cause for action of concern. We're butting up pretty close to a time where you will have no protection here, and the ghetto trash just a stones throw away doesn't have a whole lot of repercussions to fear.

Yep, same thing (almost) happened to me with a deer a couple weeks ago driving through Sorrento. I was in the right lane but he was just standing in the left lane and I didn't see him until I was literally on side of him. Like a foot away.

so you smoked an alligator therefore this guy must be innocent of any fault driving and hitting madi in the street? I'm asking questions. I'm not putting blame on him. If he was speeding, then sorry, there is blame to share. He's certainly not in the clear of any civil action.
