Why did the NCAA hate Wade so much ?

For one he was breaking into the good ole boys club too fast so they sent their attack dogs after him.

He also made them look bad and when he fought back it really got the ball rolling on people saying “screw the NCAA, they can’t even do anything about the guy caught on the wire tap”.

Everyone is putting blank envelopes of cash under a floor mat in front of the dorm room All-Americans. It happened at LSU and it happens at Duke. I still don’t think highly of Dick Vitale. He thinks he is a big shite and loves attention from all of these professional athletes. Personally, Vitale can die tomorrow and I would be happy about it.

I thought Wade was awesome. I was Excited for him to be our coach for the next 30 years or longer.

I am Furious that this happened because of a fricking FBI wiretap.

But it happened and more
shite was found when they went looking.

This is what people say on the rumor front but does anyone actually know this? It makes no sense as to why basketball would affect anything football.

It’s pretty obvious that’s what happened. Forde and Vitale, who are known NCAA stooges, were very open about it. Lots of local media talked about it, directly and indirectly. It’s not exactly a secret.

NCAA basically took football hostage in their war on Will Wade.

wade created this disaster
by what? Doing what is necessary to compete in the SEC even though he had no support, no fall back, no structure for him to recruit?
It's clear as day LSU admins had no clue how to support a coach that wants to win in basketball. Wade essentially exposed their apathy for basketball and I'm done trying to rationalize Woody's handling of this.

Woodward screwed up massively by leaning into the General Wade stuff last season knowing it was on the table that he'd fire him. Hyped the program up around Wade then pulled the rug out on the eve of the selection show. No matter who the next hire was it made it more of an uphill battle for him.

No more “back room deals” with the IARP. Completely separate from the NCAA.

NCAA sends everything it has at the time the NOA is issued. The NOA had been issued at the time Wade was fired.

Right and Wade was fired that day. Discussions took place before that.

I mean Woodward is definitely a pussy for the way he handled Wade but there's also no debating how much of a dumbass Wade is at the same time. They're both responsible for basketball going to shite.

I would criticize Woodward if needed but it blows my mind that some are blaming him of all people for this.

Most of y’all are arse monkey’s.

Let’s say most of you are correct that Mr. Woodward made a bad hire for MBB. He made three other outstanding hires. .750 average is knocking it out of the park.

Let me give you the short version. The coach doesn’t shoot the damn ball. Shooting 42% from the field, 69% from the charity stripe and 33% from the arch is not winning basketball. Here is a good one, 40% in the paint, 40%40%. Damn that sucks. Let me give you one more. 261 turnovers in 20 games. That’s appalling. All that is on the players.

Yes, the coach chose these players but he didn’t have much to choose from or much time to recruit.

You have every right to complain about the coach’s coaching style or matching up his players or even play calling. But the blame is on the players not executing, not putting the ball in the bucket standing two feet from it. The freaking players made an arse load of bone headed plays and turn overs. This just scratches the surface.

Less blame goes to Mr. Woodward. If this continues after next year I’m sure he will show the coach to the door. I would even think if it stays this bad he might do it after the end of the year. But I wouldn’t think so because there was just no stability from the past year and would only exacerbate the situation. Saying “he doesn’t care about men’s BB” is asinine. Grow the “F” up. He is paid to CARE about all of the programs.

Woodward is not great at picking men's basketball coaches. Williams has seriously underperformed Aggie expectations. So far, albeit early, McMahon doesn't look like he's ready to run a power 5 program. I hope he learns because the team is unwatchable at this point.

Will Wade, and no one else, did this to the basketball program. Jesus the rant is full of retards. A basketball program that loses every single player will not be rebuilt in a year.

LSU has some of the most stupid fans in all of college athletics.

The idiot known as Will Wade did this all to himself. He lied to LSU Administration and got caught. If LSU fought to keep Wade they would have appeared to have been complicit which would have left LSU open for the dreaded “Lack Of Institutional Control” charges from the NCAA.

Also, LSU had charges against the Football Program and whether you like it or not LSU will protect the Football Program and if that means getting rid of Will Wade then so be it. Some of you morons don’t deal in reality and are either chronologically or just mentally 12-14 years old.

Regarding LSU Basketball, Matt McMahon took over a team with zero players. LSU is playing with a team which is the same as if LSU just started a Basketball program and this is year 1.

Some of you are delusional to the point of insanity. It is going to take any coach in this situation 2-3 years to reestablish the LSU Basketball program and that is reality. How this fact and what led to it escapes some of you is amazing but then again some posters on this board are frauds and other are simply depriving a Village somewhere of its Idiot.
