We need a major catastrophe on the grid walk.

F1 in Vegas is a shite show from top to bottom. I can’t believe they didn’t account for steel valve covers in the street. Obviously the force of these F1 cars would pull those up.
$2million in damages to a car over something that was avoidable ahead of time is outrageous.
US is never prepared for real world situations on world stage events. They only prepare for the marketing side of things and advertise like crazy.
2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics are going to be absolute shite shows logistically, just watch.

And on the side where max will start. I’m sure he’s thrilled.

FIA approves all tracks before running. FIA walks the whole track and certifies it as Grade 1.
There is plenty of blame to go around, but this isn't the first, second, third, or 6th time the FIA certified a track that needed to have covers welded or rewelded.

I am embarrassed now ever bringing up f1 with someone from another country.

It's amazing how the Cirque du Soleil can perform such amazing tricks and make them look gay as shite.

The Miami intro should have done that.
Really, the OG Austin race should have done that.
Don't know if it is just because America is the only place getting new GPs that we understand the language or what.
Austin opening, Miami opening, Mexico skeleton dude, now this. Baku was a shitshow its first go-round. Not sure if it is inexperienced promoters or just people looking for the new races to fail so everything gets magnified.

I was just out there in September and people were over that shite. I can easily see how normal people are negatively impacted. They all hated it and I heard not one so gal positive thing about it.
The Long Beach Grand Prix was an F1 race for eight years before it switched to IndyCar because the F1 financial model was too risky for the promoter Chris Pook. For the last 40 years it has been a very successful IndyCar event, and it's been great for the City of Long Beach. Next to the Indy 500, it's the next most important event on the schedule.
In recent years Chris Pook wanted the LBGP to go back to being an F1 race, so he tried to get the City of Long Beach to approve a switch. I believe F1 was very much in favor of going back to Long Beach. But the financial risk was the same as before (or rather, it was even worse than before). The IndyCar event was a known quantity with a long history of success (and obviously much cheaper to hold than an F1 event), and making a deal with F1 was a huge risk.
quote:
In 2016, the Long Beach City Council issued an RFP, opening up consideration for returning the event to a Formula One race as early as 2019. In August 2017, after a study was completed and after discussions, the switch to Formula One was rejected. The city council voted unanimously to continue the event as part of the IndyCar Series.
Bernie has said numerous times that he doesn't like democracy. He preferred dealing directly with the dictators who would pay the huge fees and create a spectacle with no concern for making a profit. This is why it's harder to have events in democratic, capitalist countries (ironically). Bernie made F1 huge, but it's built on pure greed. As long as there are dictators who are willing to pour millions (that they stole from their people) into F1 for the "prestige," creating and maintaining events in capitalist countries will remain massively risky. And there's no way the DTS effect will remain a driving force.

Without a doubt. Once the shine wears off Liberty is out and selling to the Saudis. Then we will see 18 races in the Middle East and something may take F1's place as an international racing series. Will make is wish for a cheesy Vegas race.

I don’t understand spending $500 mil on a race only to start it at 1 am
