He is going to need to get creative right now and the players he picked year one aren’t that impressive.
So my suggestion is don’t worry about the best players find someone who fits a certain style or he is done. It’s a fact.
These movies have been shown before and everything I have seen isn’t positive at all.
So for all you defenders of McMahon please tell us what exactly he has done to show any coaching ability or program building skills he has shown so far.

I’ll Wait

I love Will Wade. We should have a BBQ fundraiser for Will Wade outside of the PMAC. I’m good for a grand (1K).

Don’t give up Will ! We will be back together someday. Love, D. R Klingler.

You don't need 5 to 6 years to 'rebuild' this program

LSU had to give an 8 year contract to get a coach to take the damn job. So in your infinite wisdom wtf do you think would happen if LSU was dumb enough to follow your desire and fire McMahon?’

LSU would be right back to trying to hire a coach who would take the job at a disadvantage and you would be bitching all over again.

Auburn was really bad the first 3 seasons of the Bruce Pearl era. Hang in there folks.

McMahon isn’t going anywhere whether most of you like it or not. He took over an impossible situation in year 1. Might as well get behind the guy and be supportive rather than trashing him at every turn.

The whiny bitches who’ve been critical thus far is precisely why I don’t follow basketball. If an AD signs you to 8 years, then it’s pretty obvious that you’re in complete rebuild mode.

Why? Missouri has a new coach that replaced an entire roster with players lower ranked than lsu. They are competing for a tournament spot.

That's an outlier & not the norm.

I keep seeing this but it's a bad comparison.

1. Historically, AU does not compare to LSU as a program
2. His first year they went 15-20 (4-14). Better than we will likely do this year.
3. Bruce Pearl was a proven commodity in this league and had earned some patience from the fanbase.

They aren't unrealistic, mind you, just shouldn't be the expectation. This program has never been a consistent conference title contender

His current job is to steady the ship. It's not steady so he has a job to do still. If the program is progressing after year 3 keep him, but from just his body language dude is already a dead man walking. He just has a waiting period to go before he is buried.

But, predictably, the unreasonable faction of the fan base expected the team to magically come out and be world beaters with a roster fashioned with duct tape and bubble gum.

In the world of the transfer portal and NIL, absolutely no reason to have a team this bad.

He has no edge to him and to win at LSU you have to either recruit very well or have some distinctive edge to your approach. McMahon is just a cookie cutter coach, basically a poor man’s version of Rick Barnes or Ben Howland.

People keep bringing up this 7-8 years he was offered. Bottom line is that was a "Good Faith" contract in case we got slapped again and there is some security with the contract being that he came here and willing to take the risk.
3 years at most. No matter what

Look I'll say this and end my point. I really for the sake of our student athletes hope he turns it around. But should he not, LSU and every other Major University(unless under probation) will move on if a coach isn't successful in 3 years. With TP and NIL around now you cant afford to sit around 4-5 years waiting while other schools pass them up.
LSU over the years has done a good job processing coaches as needed I suspect this to be the same if it comes to it.
