I’m a GA pilot. I had to take a course to get my pilot license. This included a minimum of 40 hours of stick time and some ground school. The flying costs about $175 per hour between the plane and the instructor. Ground school is about $40 per hour just for the instructor. You probably won’t get it done in 40 hours, so figure 50 times $175 and add another 20 hours of ground school times $40. So about $8,000 to $9,000 to get your license.
This qualifies you to fly, but only clear of clouds. To get any use out of your license you need an instrument ticket, which is just as involved. However, you can do this cheaper because you can use a simulator for a lot of it. Add another $6,000 for this.
My info is not very current, so I’m guessing at some of the costs.
BTW: The “Okay Muhammed” post was elite.

Ground school is a racket you don’t actually have to do it. They just do it to get you in there if it’s raining or you gotta wait for a plane
It’s 50 hours flying now to get any kind of license worth anything to fly by yourself. They only gonna let you get an hour a day on the front end so it takes forever

Where do you live in Georgia? I am making plans to eventually get my pilpts license at Lanier Airport in Gainesville, GA. I won't entertain flying solo until I complete the instrument rating portion of licensure.
