Stanford and other formerly elite universities will eventually lose their status as elite universities because of this. When these people get into the market place and inevitably not reach the expectations of a Stanford grad then the marketplace will eventually begin to devalue the elite universities.

Bruh, Harvard is now telling us that 2+2=5

Well intelligent people tend to have intelligent children (nature) and also given their high achievement are likely to instill that work ethic in said children (nurture)

Combining nature and nurture it’s not surprising that their children enter similar work

Affirmative action needs to end. Even if qualified, there's a looming cloud of doubt about their abilities. It's unfair to everyone.

Not sure if it's still this way, but programs used to get additional money and tax breaks for minority residents.

Match has NEVER been a fair process. It has always been poisoned by the nepotism pill. I mean what are the chances that all of these sons match at the same facility as their fathers? I agree it should be skill and academic based but this is just another example of how antiquated and caste like our medical system is…

bullshite. Just an excuse made by people that didn't match at their preferred sites.

And I don't know if any of the females I graduated with still work full time. Most never did. Many married other Doctors and never worked or took an easy academic job. I don't have a single female surgeon I refer to except in plastics. Even then, they are far from the best except for one. I know quite a few that had their license pulled.

Perfect example is Debbie Thomas, the former Olympic figure skater. Stanford grad that matched ortho at UAMS in LR. She was one of my surgery interns. I liked her fine. Her work ethic, skills and knowledge were far below par. She now lives in a meth trailer in West Virginia and hasn't had a license in years. She should've never been in the program, much less graduated, but she was pushed through. Wasted resources.

Wow. I would respond with a well thought out rebuttal to your poor anecdotal one but there is no point. I will let your above post represent your integrity and intelligence on it own. Good day, sir.

Diversity quotas and Affirmative Action are though. People screaming racism and yet supporting policies that are openly racist

watch medical malpractice lawsuits gradually rise over the years causing the insurers to raise coverage prices which then gets turned over to the patients therefore making costs of procedures go up even higher

then it would be a fiasco to the people in finding good surgeons

Just the facts from first hand experience. My integrity and intelligence? Yes, my post is represenative of them. I refer to the best physician I can find for my patients. I dgaf what gender, color, religion etc. The only thing that affects my decision is the quality of their care and work.

Please rebut. Best nurses are gay males btw.

In about 10 years, patients will need to ask to see medical school transcripts bf allowing a doctor to touch them. Won’t be able to trust the physician is actually qualified. I’ve seen what I think was an affirmative action doc in action and the patient would have died had she not changed docs at my suggestion.

Problem is that most are going to pass/fail to cover up the poor performance. Boards are pass/fail now. No numerical rankings.
