You don’t think there are lots of guys who can do 270+?

I couldn’t but I’m sure there many just normal guys who can.

Good on this guy.

The only way this nonsense will stop is if women make it stop.

They need to start screaming at the top of their lungs that mentally ill men need to stay the hell out of their competitions.

It’s an extremely reasonable goal for almost all normal guys who are willing to stick to a solid workout program and eat the requisite amount of food and especially protein. I’d say it’s probably pretty rare for a commercial gym not to have men who can bench 275.

I can’t do three plates but I’d also argue it’s rare to have a gym where there aren’t at least a few people with some good genetics working for them that can lift 315. My old workout partner threw up 310 at 195 lbs bodyweight and he works out in the guest bedroom of his house with a random assortment of home gym equipment. Again, these aren’t competition settings with a strict mandated pause on the rep and a pause before rerack, but anyone acting like 270 is not an extremely achievable goal for most normal men with the right amount of gym time and protein intake is acting kind of silly.

270 on bench is a very realistic goal for most men

I’m 6’ 170 lbs and don’t lift heavy and can do reps of three of 225 lbs. it wouldn’t take much to bulk up and get to 270 and I’m not naturally as big as a lot of men are

I workout at a simply anytime fitness and we have multiple guys that can easily put up 270. Some over 50 years old

You know, since everyone here is 6'4", 260 with 8% body fat, makes over 200K per year, has a ten for a wife, and is on-par with Chuck Norris in Martial Arts.

The vast majority of guys will never bench something like 405 but 270 is within reach. For a non-competitive gym goer it’s still a good lift but it’s not insanely impressive especially for a male competitive powerlifter. That’s the point. Any decent sized gym you can find will likely have at least a few guys that can bench at least that much.

Seriously. I’m very tall with long noodle arms and I could get up 215 back in college. 270 is not much for a man who trains hard.

Saw a thin brother (5'8" weighing 160 lbs) do this in Panama back in my military days. He trained for 3 months and could bench 310lbs by then. True, was impressive. Shocked that more women couldn't do more even at a world-class rate.

270 was the record?!?!

He then casually bench-pressed nearly 370 pounds — beating the current Alberta women’s record by almost 100 pounds.

In 1983 we had 4 guys on a single A football team that benched 315 or better. There were 35 guys on the team. No one weighed more than 220 lbs. This in the days of one cup of water in a 3 hour practice, salt pills, and stretching was an excuse to be standing in one place so that you were easier to be dog cussed by a coach. Our weight room was an un-airconditioned metal prefab building with two benches. We measured our "max" one afternoon in the middle of August two-a-days.

A 270 lb bench press is not exactly the 4 minute mile.

That said, my 55 yr old arse would risk ripping my dick open trying to bench 135 right now.

Good.

If we can get into "trouble" for saying a man isn't actually a woman then they should be allowed to dominate women's sports.

biological women need to take a freaking stand from crap like this

Here's my take:

There will be no movement to end this, unless some men take charge of the movement and make the movement work. Women absolutely will not leave their comfortable existences in order to "take to the streets" and fight for an Anti-Leftist agenda item of any kind.

They might join a movement originated and carried forward by men. That could happen. But if the matter is left entirely up to women living in the USA to create and carry such a movement forward, IMHO, that will never happen. Never. Not for THIS cause. Not for ANY cause. American women won't do it.

How have they not infiltrated team sports such as women’s basketball yet? One of those crazies would absolutely dominate.

I love this. Let’s get rid of gender specific teams and competitions and just let everyone enter.
